Yea thats what I was thinking, how long can a chicken survive in the wild, we have a time protecting them let alone when they have no fence no coop no roost even, I doubt chicken would live longer than a week unless its in a urban setting
I have had or know of instances when game hens survived for up two years without any imputes or protection form humans. Not only did they survive these hens absolutely thrived on their own. Two of these hens were recaptured and I think that the third became predator scat.
All 3 of the surviving hens survived in a wilderness setting and not even in hearing of a human habitation. There are fewer IMHO predators in a wilderness setting than there is in a urban or suburban setting.
