Anna here has always been the dominant of my three birds, and they have been doing quite well. I noticed that she seemed to be injured the other day, and it has worried me. She lays normally, but with the temperatures around 5 F of late, I am worried about her throat being exposed. I have no idea what happened, nor what I can do to help, but it really looks like someone pecked and tore at her one side as the red looks like a gouge. Neither other girl has any wounds that I can see, so I really am at a loss. Thank you for all your help and advice. She is an Ameraucana by the way.

To me it doesn't look bad. You could try spraying some Veterycin on it, and maybe dab off the excess with a clean towel, since it's so cold. and then just keep an eye on her.

Not sure that's what it was. Does she free range? It could have been a spat between them, or something else might have grabbed her and she got away. .
We had a hen that happened to a year or so ago, we just couldn't figure out what happened to her.
Something ripped out her feathers in a patch, similar to what you have there. She bled all over the place but really it was just her broken feathers. She was ok, we kept
her in a hospital pen for a couple of days and sprayed her with Vetrycin. We never did figure out what it was, and it hasn't happened since. Weird.

She does free range but in this weather she doesn't leave her run and coop very much. Plus, we have two large dogs in our small fenced in yard that do a very good job keeping other animals out. But could have been something, I just got worried. Glad to see its not nearly as bad as I was afraid of it being. Thanks for the info :).
