Gold Laced Birds- What Breeds Have This Color?

Golden Laced Wyandotte
Golden Laced Polish
Golden Laced Cochin
Golden Sebright
I'm sure there's a Golden Serama

Are some of the few birds I could name.

Do you know if anyone has tried this project variety?

By project variety do you mean the idea of Gold Laced Leghorns? If so, I don't know anyone. The only project birds I know of are the Gold Laced Orpingtons.

Your list is what I know of, too, and I'm so disappointed that there aren't any others. What I really want is a standard size fowl with regular feathering that lays lots of eggs. Polish have the top hat, Cochins have the leg feathers, and Wyandottes (the kind I'll most likely end up getting) have a rose comb but are not known for laying large amounts of eggs; I'm also not a great fan of rose combs, but I'll tolerate that for this gorgeous color.

Can anyone tell me how the Gold Laced color can be produced in a breed where it doesn't exist? What parent colors are needed?

I would love more answers!

A project variety is a variety that isn't really developed or not existent at all, making it a project to develop it where it can breed true and eventually be accepted in the standard. Leghorns do have a rose comb counterpart and it's probably not that difficult to go back to the single comb.

I am very interested in the idea of Gold Laced Leghorns as well, or Silver Laced! Unfortunately I can't think of any LF Mediterranean-type breeds with that colouring! The laced colours have mostly been introduced into heavier breeds: Cochin, Orp, Wyandotte....

I think it would look very nice on a lighter-style chicken, like this Feathersite White Leghorn hen.
