The Egg Diaries~ a first (attempt to) hatch

1 egg remained and I helped that egg to hatch, producing our first chick from the coop. That chick was officially out on the 14th, and has been named Obi-Wan-Kenobi since it was the only hope I had left.

I think that the elevation may have contributed some to the hatch, so my plans for the next hatch are to set more eggs, increase humidity, increase temperature, and add a little more ventilation.

That's great. My first hatch produced a loner chick. Apparently my pick of stuffed animal wasn''t up to his standards (really, he just wanted to be out the cage and with me 24/7) but he wouldn't have anything to do with it. When he did, it was just to poo all over it....lol
