What do you do with all these chicks?

Just wanted to see what other members did with all the chicks that they hatch. Do you sell them? Give them away? Send some to freezer camp? I've got 27 good eggs setting and I'm starting to think about how many I actually want to keep assuming I get enough hens.

I'm trying to build my flock so I'm keeping the hens and the roos I ship out. I was lucky enough to find someone that took 5 of my boys from last hatch. I am contempleting selling chicks later on once I see how my Spitzhaubens turn out from this hatch and if I can get some good quality showgirls.

I had an unexpected phone call yesterday: I had offered a few chicks to a fellow that I used to work with in exchange for some rooted grape cuttings. (This is a case of counting my chicks and grapes before they hatch!) He called to see how many chicks I might have available. When he heard that I'm planning a trip to Guatemala, he said he'd like to buy 20, straight run! So, I just may set an other batch after this one! If I do, I'll take them to TSC for a chicken swap. I'd never bring anything home from there, and will sterilize my clothing and shoes afterwards, but that may be a good option to sell some chicks.

I was just there today to get feed and scratch and we were looking at the chicks and so many of them look unhealthy! The ducks looked the best and I still thought one of them was dead, it moved a littel, but I do't think it is going to last. Cool on the potential sale though.
