Just wanted to share this little chick with you :). He or she and hopefully soon a sibling is hatched today from an organic egg bought from the supermarket. I bought the eggs during easter (the egg is stamped with Glad Påsk, meaning happy easter in Swedish) and put them in the incubator, two of them were fertilized!

Yes, they survived all the handling that store bought eggs go through. Shipping, washing, stamping, refrigeration

Yes, very fun! They're doing really well, it will be interesting to see what they look like as adults. Since the hens are hybrids the chicks will not be the same as their parents.

In Sweden, organic and KRAV (KRAV farms have to follow special rules for the well being of the hens) have roosters among them, this is why it's possible that some eggs are fertilized.
