Got pinless peepers for 8 of my chickens to stop/reduce bullying. Now they're either mad or couldn't see or fit their beaks on water or food containers, the feeders and waterer were full and remained full. Egg productions are its lowest ever - 3 out of 10. Boy so much work, I haven't even put up my vegetable garden.

It might be easier to figure out why they're picking and correct it rather than dealing with the peepers.
Investigate things like space, feed, or lack of stimulation. A hanging cabbage or flock block might do wonders for the pecking problem. I hope you get it figured out!

Thanks, I've consulted few people on other threads before I bought the peepers. Not ready to cull the bullies yet but to be sure placed pinless peeps on 8. Till I figure out what to do. Done the cabbage thing, done different options aside from freezing camp for the leghorns and couple more bullies. They got plenty of space and food (enough protein) Coop is 10x12 with 10x24 (just added another 12') partially covered run w/ 8' clear roof. They have better home than me

I just ordered some & plan on using them only on the offending meanies. I'm hoping as they get all the same size that will fix the problem cause 3 Australorps are 5 weeks ahead of the other 2 BR & BOs. Keeping them separated has been a lot of extra work. I'm sure the Australorps are missing the nice run they shared with the rest.

Hens are happy right now, no pecking, no screaming murder. Third day of funky peepers - egg laying back up to 7.

I'm curious what that is growing in your run?? Trying to find a good alternative to dirt and pine shavings here in the wet PNW!

Hi, Can you give me an update on your post? We are going to try these on three of our production reds that are bullying one of our other chickens, a black australorp. They pecked her head so bad that we had to keep her in isolation for 2 weeks while the wound healed.

Does the bullying pick back up again after they get used to the peepers?

After couple of months with "silly glasses" I took them off and there was never another bullying except for occasional pecks. So I haven't used them in a while. Matter of fact, I've had almost 4 generations of hens living together w/o any issues now.
