Hey guys, I have a Crested Polish who I believe is a boy. I'll post pictures below so you can admire him :) His name is Lopez, and he needs a lady companion. I was wondering if any of you knew a breed that wouldn't pick on him and would lay lots of eggs. He's a very sweet roo.

I would go with either some other Polish or some of the bantam breeds such as Silkies. Because of their crests, Polish tend to get picked on badly by other standard breeds.

The problem is those breeds don't lay big eggs or eggs as often as other breeds. So I'm looking for a good layer who will also be good around Lopez.

That's a tough one with no guarantees. You might try one of the standard breeds that has a well deserved reputation for being calm and gentle such as Australorps, Orpingtons, Brahmas, Sussex, or Faverolles. All of these breeds are good layers and the Australorps are exceptional layers.

I'll look into those breads, thank you!
