Does anyone make earrings or fly fishing lures out of chicken feathers?

I personally don't, but I do know that fishermen (and possibly, tackle shops) will pay pretty good money for hackle feathers for fly tieing. They usually want full hackles, not individual feathers. So if you have to butcher a rooster, you skin it and keep the cape of feathers. My husband would scrape off any fat, then salt it real well, then roll it up and store in the freezer until needed.. One cape will keep a fly tier happy for quite a while. For more info. I would find a tackle shop and talk to the the person there. I am only going by what I watched my husband do. I didn't really participate in that part of chicken work.
