Hey everyone!
So my rooster has a sore foot. I soaked it in Epson salts today, took the scab off, poured diluted peroxide on it, rinsed thoroughly. Then I covered his sore in antibiotic cream, and bandaged it up.
I'm so worried about him! I hope I did everything right!

He was such a champ! I just want him to heal right up

Well the scab was on his toe.

Would you still think bumble foot? When I removed the scab, there was no puss or hard substance to remove.
I feel like I'm way over my head if it is bumble foot.

I've just been learning about this myself so I can only offer a little info...

From what I've read, if the scab is hard, dry and no swelling exists, then there isn't an infection. If there is swelling, redness and the scab is loose, there probably is infection. If it's minor then the antibiotic and wrap will help.

My girl had a lump the size of a small marble between her toes and was limping. I did the surgery following the thread I gave the link to and a plug popped out along with some pretty nasty goo.

You should be ok just keeping an eye on your guy for now, change his bandage every few days (or if it gets wet), and apply the neosporin every time you change the bandage. Watch for swelling and redness.

Hope I didn't alarm you unnecessarily.

I just really like my rooster! I just want him to be ok! NO you didn't unnecessarily alarm me. I've only been keeping chickens for five years! I feel lost a lot!

His scab was dry and hard, but it did seem a bit swollen. It came of pretty easy.
It's weird how he seemed fine a couple days ago, then out of no where his poor toe has a huge scab and he is limping.
by the way, it is very hard to wrap a chickens toe

I understand about the wrapping! I tried to follow the instructions and pictures on that post but my handiwork sure didn't turn out that well, lol. My girl kept picking it off so after 2 days when her surgery site looked a lot better, I left the wrapping off (I didn't want her eating it a tiny piece at a time). I'm pretty sure vet wrap is not on the approved list of chicken treats.

See this fotos!
Plastic=plastic sheet like plastic sheet from containers
Type= adhesive tape
Folding line= a line that you should perforate with a hot knife point and fold as
Described in the pic.
You can take a pice of plastic sheet from a juice container. Cut from it the shape in pic-1 according to the rooster foot. Than you should perforate with a hot knife point the folding line, than you should rape the rooster foot according to the other pics.
