    Not just spraddle leg?

I have a 48 hr plus chick. He was slow to hatch and I have been hobbling him for 24 hrs for spraddle leg. He can’t stand, he even with the Hubble. His feet almost go over his head. Am I supposed to hobble over the hock, to straighten it? ( knee…not sure what it’s called.)

    4 legs!

This baby hatched with 4 legs. The two extra in the back are not functional. Also seems to have splayed leg. I’ve made a hobble with a band aid and hoping for the best. I’ve been dipping her beak every hour and she’s drinking enthusiastically, not interested in food yet. I’m exhausted, like I...

    Brand new Bird Owner

Hello all, Over the last few monts I have taken the dive I to raising my own birds. Due to location and bylaws, I decided on raising Quail, though chicken would have been my preferred. I have a cage set up in my garage with 3 tiers that are 3'x18"x1', each being about 4.5sqf per. I am just...

Splayed leg or slipped tendon? Lost cause?

Hi everyone! I saved these baby chicks from euthanization however, I have no idea how to help them. Nugget and Peaches have taken over my life! I'd do anything for them. I live in South Texas and we have no chicken vets in my area... I need to know how to fix or provide therapy for these babies...

    Duckling Not Thriving - HELP!

I'm a first time duckling mom to 6 lovely ducklings. They are two weeks old today & straight out of the shipping box one was smaller and clearly weaker than the rest. She was also covered in green dye from the grow gel so I suspect since her legs were weak, she spent a lot of the trip at the...

First time turkey momma, injured leg

I rescued a little poult from the hardware store, the others were walking all over her. I took her home in the hopes we can fix her leg and she can be a new family member. So here’s what’s going on with Little Foot’s leg. When in the store it was out sideways and she wasn’t really walking on...

    Rooster hobble

I've invented a rooster hobble that's working pretty well on my aggressive roo. It allows him to walk, hop, and "prance," but not run. I'm wondering if there's a market for such a device, and if so, how much you'd be willing to pay for it.

Day old silkie chick - splayed legs

After a disastrous hatch, with the broody abandoning her eggs right at the crucial moment. I've had one lovely silkie hatch out, but unsurprisingly given the turmoil of her hatching, she has some problems. She has quite a bad case of splayed legs, which hopefully you can make out in the picture...

    "Preemie" Duckling?

Long story but here’s the short version (even though it’s still long). One of our mama Pekings went broody crazy, laying on 22 eggs. 6 were broken into, 8 were duds, 10 were moved with Mama away from everyone. Four hatched under her, 6 left, 2 had stopped after the nest raid and move, leaving 4...

Chick having trouble standing and walking. How do I help her?

I am really new to chickens. We just got six chicks about a week ago! Five of them are doing great-- cheeping and eating and pooping and running around like nobody's business. I started noticing a few days ago that one of them (Janice) is not doing so hot however. She seemed way weaker and less...

    No clue what is wrong

My son volunteered us to care for his classroom's chicks over the weekend. There was chick who had a leg problem. I put him in a separate little box so he didn't get picked on by the others. I decided to keep the baby for the week to see if I could get him walking. So I did a google search as...
