For your Easter morning entertainment.
I present my chick chicks.
Tweets doing great! Her wing feather are coming in giving me the thought perhaps a hen. Time will tell. Still just day 3.
Here are my other 4 chick chicks.
3 Silkies and 1 houdan frizzle sizzle (I think never saw one like her lol)

That is the chick my broody hen refused to accept. So separation of the 3 was needed till they get bigger than Annie my frizzle serama momma who accepted the one chick to mother.
Total drama I did not expect.
But working to keep them all close as a flock for later.

Then there is Tocco my milli cochin roo and Ruru a RedComit hen who defiantly has to get use to knowing there are others lady chicks added to the flock.
Who has been queen bee, now it's her time to get use to the idea.
For safety supervised outings.
The soft spot on the silkie chicks not risking her bonking them.
Now truly I am a crazy chicken lady...
:love:celebrate

We love congee. My recipe is one cup of short grain rice in a crock pot with 8 cups water, or broth, or water and bullion, or water and a few pieces of chicken. Cook overnight or until the rice breaks and the whole mixture becomes translucent and very soft. Serve with a sprinkling of sesame oil and sesame seeds and maybe a little finely chopped green onion. Or enjoy plain. Or add some boiled chicken. Or put a fried egg on top. It's the kind of thing you make to taste. It's basically like oatmeal but made with rice. Very comforting and you can feed an army with it.
Now this recipe sounds good.
