Hello friends,
Most of my flock was labeled as specific breeds but i have three Hoover's "Hatchery's Choice" and I can't quite figure 2 of them out!

Pullet: not super sure on age but I am thinking she is about 7-8 weeks old, although I don't think she developed properly in the beginning because she was near death when we got her. She is currently housed with 2 EEs about 1-2 weeks younger that are much more round and full than she is. here are some pictures of her and her wings when we got her 5.5 weeks ago and then some other pictures of her as shes grown:

^her with a 1-2 week younger EE

Next is a chick, probably around 2 weeks old- here's some pictures of her from the last two weeks and pictures of her wing feathers after losing a good amount of fluff! (Wing picture she is covering another chick with her wing- don't let the two heads confuse you 😂) 20230505_205628.jpg 20230517_211931.jpg 20230517_212640.jpg 20230517_212144.jpg received_557829459607028.jpeg

If anyone has any guesses as to what these babies may be I would love to hear them! 🖤

The first one is a Prairie Bluebell Egger most likely, but in this case - you can omit the Egger part of its name. That is cockerel and won't be laying any eggs.

The second one is too young yet to ID. It is most likely going to be something black with mottling or spots, like an Ancona. First picture suggests if maybe a midnight majesty Maran, but the next few don't.

Oh crap. 🫠🫠🫠 you know I was starting to suspect that Chicky may be a cockerel but I had been forcefully ignoring my suspicion 🫠🫠🫠 she crowed the day after I read your response (didn't have a moment to reply! I'm so sorry) so I'm glad you mentally prepared me for that- thank you! 😂😂😂

I also was thinking the chick would be something similar to an Ancona! I'll attach a new pic- there's some new feather coloring going on 😂

The first bird is a cockerel I'm afraid. It's an EE of some sort. The second chick, what type of comb does it have?
Thank you so much for mentally preparing me for her first attempt at crowing the day after I read this! 😅😅😅
The chick is growing a single comb! Here's this week's picture of it! It's growing and changing so fast 😭
