She sat on the eggs for two days then gave up I’ve never had broody hens before and was looking forward to it.

Ah well, can you get a game hen or a bantam chicken? You can shove any egg under there if those are broody

I just set 140 bantam ameraucana and easter egger eggs, if its not too late to join the fun.. Took me a few days to get everything out and ready for the season, heres a pic of most of the eggs!

Holy cow! Cabinet incubator I assume? Also welcome!

Here they are, not sure how helpful it is because they don't actually show generations further down the line. Like what the splits would produce when bred but I still found it educational!

We have severe weather warnings for tomorrow that are apparently bad enough that they're closing the school for the day. This is a first for me other than for hurricanes or that snow day we had 3 years ago, lol. I sure hope my incubators don't lose power...

Yeah same for us. We're right around wher you are it sounds like. We could possibly be getting a few tornadoes, we'll see

I candled all of my shipped eggs. The Blue/Black Silver Birchen Marans, Wheaten Marans, White Ameraucanas, Lavender Ameraucanas, and Olive Eggers. There are only 4 eggs I'm not sure about, the rest appear to be developing!! With so many of these eggs being viable and all of the Polkies that I set a week earlier being viable, this may be my most epic hatch yet.

So excited!! You're making ME want to do Polkies

You have a good eye. That's very possible. The eggs came from a mixed flock. A little of everything including Khaki Campbells.

Yeah, no can do. I am looking for another silkie hen and to get rid of my rooster so I can use the silkies as brooder mommas. No other hens I’ve ever had have gone broody.
