12th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

Maybe, a lot of people say this but I've had hens kick perfectly healthy eggs out and stay on eggs that are about not explode. So I hesitate to be a firm believer of this, lol.

I have similar situations. I have been finding that experience is the best way to figure something out.

Received the 7 Embden eggs in the mail
1 was cracked
2 were not fertilized, and I discarded them
Still have 4 in the incubator, lock down on this coming Wednesday, hope to have them hatch by next weekend or early next week.

I set 8 Cornex quail today, April 3 2021. My incubator's humidity sensor is broken. I use a Govee temp and humidity sensor to show me the correct humidity. My last hatch was very poor with only 2 living out of 10 fully formed chicks. I hope to better control the humidity for this hatch.

I used a Govee sensor for my recent hatch and only one of five hatched. I am convinced the humidity readings were wrong but I was also using a poorly built incubator so I can't say for sure that this was the problem. I just felt like it was always reading way lower that it should have.

Still waiting on a few eggs to hatch over the next few days. Will get you a total soon.

Mine are currently in lockdown and besides the occasional wiggle, still waiting. 21 days is not until Tuesday so may not have final numbers for a few days. Learned something though, just for the heck of it when doing the final candle pulled out the stethoscope and listened. You could hear their hearts beating with it.
