13 week old cockerel found alive this morning but with hole on his gizzard

Hes weak but i can get him to swallow water.. Can this be patched or should i put him down?

I will make every attempt to save him if its feasible.

If that is the only injury then I think a vet would easily be able to fix it. You will need to stitch the crop shut to save it. If you won't take her to a vet, there are several videos on crop surgery for impacted crop that you may want to watch. It doesn't look too difficult if you have a suture kit.

Note that I would not try super glue on the crop, since it is only useful for closing external wounds. Dissolving stitches are best for internal use. I keep some on hand just in case.

I watched the video and did what I could to close the wound but the margins of tissue were already drying and I didn't want to remove any more so I closed it as cleanly as I could live tissue to live tissue. I'm starting him on an antibiotic and working on his hyrdration now.. Thanks for the prompt reply.

On his neck at the breast bone.. It was crop and not gizzard.. (That redish area is his flat comb.. He is my only Saipan rooster.
