I have a 9mo old Rhode Island Red rooster and a 8mo Silver Leghorn rooster. They are great boys with the hens making sure to offer bugs they find to the girls, but they are not so great with my young kids. The Silver Leghorn is better about staying away from the kids and myself but he has it out for my husband. RIR seems to have a personal vendetta against my 2yo daughter. Both were accidental roos in with sets of pullets.
Free, not looking for anything but either a good home or someone who has the means to process. We don’t, and I have heard the Silver Leghorn would be really gamey.
