2 x 4 Welded Wire still not enough?

The welded wire 2" x 4" welded wire keeps most adult medium sized predators out and provides a scaffolding that supports chickens wire that keeps juvenile predators of concern. If need be I can present a photograph documenting where a medium sized predator chewed through 1/2" hardware cloth. You will be hard pressed to find a mesh that will keep everything out. If concern is that great then consider employing hotwire, electrified poultry netting or even a dog to give broader spectrum protection. You could even elevate pens and keep all the extra layers.

I use hardware cloth, and woven wire over it on the lower 4', very well attached. With a concrete foundation, and a roof. No openings larger than 1/2" anywhere. When the bears arrive, I'll add hot wire around the outside too. Also, not food is left outside of the coop and run to attract critters. Mary
