This year I decided to add a new line to my turkey pens for genetic diversity so I ordered hatching eggs. The eggs were incubated along with my own turkey eggs, but hatched in a different hatcher so I could mark them. My problem is, all of the turkey poults from the other line ended up getting curled toes. It didn't start until they were around 3 or 4 weeks old and got worse. It started with the middle toe, and then the other toes curled as well. Any ideas on what caused this? Obviously any male poults won't be able to breed hens and I'm concerned it could be a genetic issue that I don't want to pass on. I'm getting ready to put birds in the freezer and am wondering if I should just freezer camp all of the turkeys I hatched from the other breeder.
