I got these blue cochin chicks, born on the seventh pick them up first thing in the morning on the ninth from the post office and in doing a butt check I noticed straight away. This one chick had an issue there’s a red bump under her anal. What is this? Is it some thing that happened during the Sexting process and what does it mean for her? I bought these from AV hatchery in California, but they were dropped shipped from ideal poultry in Texas. They were supposed to all blue Cochins, two of the 12 are mystery chicks one of the mystery chick was tiny like one of my Cochins, and I’ve been fighting to keep her in the little cochin alive. Sadly, the little cochin passed last night but the mystery chick seems to have turned the corner. I’ve raised many day old chicks, and actually have two chickens that are 13 years old. I’ve never had as many issues and I’ve never lost a chick. Any help or knowledge as to what the problem might be for this cochin would be greatly appreciated.
