So I have this 6 week old Hmong pullet. Her Mom is a black copper color and her dad is golden duckwing, and most of her siblings are turning out black, but she looks mostly white! What color do you think she will turn out to be? She is mostly feathered out, except for some baby fuzz on the very top of her head.
There are her parents:

Hmong chickens are crossed colors, like Easter Eggers. You can get a lot of muddled colors and patterns, but they don't all have names or breed true. The mom is birchen but probably carries a copy of wild type, which appears to be the pattern of the chick. Because she inherited one copy of sex link silver from the rooster all the parts that would be red are white. "Duckwing" doesn't tell the rooster's full color story. He is probably a combination of wild type, partridge and/or birchen. The portion of his wing that should be golden shows a lot of black which is a crow wing trait.

Thank you for your reply! 🙂 Most of the chicks from that pairing are turning out birchen like Mom, but 2 out of 8 have that silver coloring. Off topic, but interestingly, some of the rooster's siblings are mottled. I am also noticing that, when paired with one particular hen, about half of the chicks from that pairing come out mottled, too!
