I don't have anybody to take care of the birds so I can't go anywhere eitherSouth Dakota is in the middle of the western group. I'd have to convince DH to let me go. My oldest would want to come with me.

I am actually north of the Mississippi.Yeppers he is West of the mississippi
There's a guy on one of the marans threads promoting tom turkeys as surrogate parents. Was it Romeo who insisted on that? I doubt every tom does that, but apparently french people use nice toms for brooding occasionally.
Maybe he's so maternal because he's not overloaded with boy juice? I hope you can keep him with the itty-bitties at least.Yes, that was my sweet Romeo He loves babies and is always willing to step in and help raise them. I really feel bad that I may have to seperated him from the flock. I've seen some being happening but haven't had a single fertilized egg :/

None of my other toms have ever shown any interest and 1 pretty much panicked when a baby jumped on his back lol. Romeo just calmly lets the babies sit there when they want.
I love this. It's such a seemingly absurd thought. NORTH of the Mighty Miss!? We went to the source when we rented a cabin there once long, long ago. What a thing!I am actually north of the Mississippi.
