YeppersPretty much how I learned too. Not a bad way to learn.
We had a bunch of unbroken ponies I was supposed to stay away from. I got caught riding the stallion bareback with a rope on his nose lol

Black-Winged Bronze for sure.Check out these wild turkeysView attachment 3678735View attachment 3678736View attachment 3678737
Now I'm pretty sure this is a hen flock, but is that last one black winged bronze?? Or is she hiding her primaries?
I guess I always assumed that bronze was the primary wild type, and that black winged bronze was more of a domestic color, but she sure proved me wrong!Black-Winged Bronze for sure.
She probably got that from your turkeys. Twenty minutes of distance is nothing to a roaming turkey.I guess I always assumed that bronze was the primary wild type, and that black winged bronze was more of a domestic color, but she sure proved me wrong!
So sorry to hear thatIt looks like I may be losing another one of my originals Miss Pebbles has been showing some slight balance issues lately. I was thinking maybe arthritis acting up with the cold. Tonight she has almost no balance. She's 9 1/2 years old. She and Sweet Pea are the last of my original turkey flock. I have her seperated with food and water closer. She has a strong appetite but her head is bobbing a bit and she can't really stand up.
9 1/2 years is pretty cool though. Nice job.
Sorry for your lossShe passed away 2 days ago. I miscalculated though. She was 8 1/2. I have 1 original turkey left, Miss Sweet Pea.
In loving memory of my sweet Pebbles. She was always the leader of the broody bunch each year and had the shinniest feathers ever.
