A noobie here

YWe just got our first chicks (6) and 2 ducks. We live in Idaho on a 1 acre lot just outside city limits. We are both retired, so we have lots of time to spend with them. I'm really excited to start this journey. I've read many, many articles about raising poultry and I have found this site to be the most informative.

I've read a lot about chicken math and thought it was funny until we got our chicks. I get it now. It could be a real problem for me. We already want more

Or follow their great examples! Why get five Leghorn hens when you can have 10 dual purpose hens and two roosters and fifty chicks and ten ducks? Did I mention the adorable turkeys?
