Pez snarled at her, she used water gun and snarled

Waterfly dodged the water gun attack and melted away into the water, making her invisible.

(And I quote from Bulbapedia, they can do that: While they are much easier to see while they are resting onshore, they possess the ability to rearrange themselves on a molecular level, causing themselves to "melt" into the water. It is likely that many mermaid stories were spawned by Vaporeon sightings, as their tails resemble those of mermaids.)

However, Waterfly didn't attack, only swam in circle around Pez. Protect wore off, and, swimming up to every Vaporeon's weak spot, back of the neck, she used Aurora Beam right on Pez's weak spot before Pez could even move.

A dark figure walked across the forest, his eyes scanning the area "Perfect," He smirked "There should be plenty of pokemon here..." He three pokeballs and three pokemon came out. "Catch them, catch as many as you can." The man smirked again as the three strange pokemon split up in search of pokemon to capture.
