ok, my friend got a poultry magazine, and it had a recipe for alfalfa tea... they use a flake of hay and a big garbage bag. i was going to use alfalfa pellets as they are easier and cheaper. you boil it, and then you use 1/2 and 1/2 in the chickens water.

here are my questions.

1) is it good for chicks? they say it's a good source of natural "green" protein

2) has anyone done this? and do you think it would hurt to give them?

thanks.

My grandfather had an alfalfa feild so i wanted to know what i could do w/ it. is their anything else i could add to make it even better???
