so I'm getting a flock from someone local.
roosters: silver and wheaten
hens: silver, black, and blue wheaten

what colors could I possibly get if I put the silver roo in with the hens vs if I used the wheaten?

Nothing showable.
Crossing silver to wheaten/blue wheaten will make birds split to silver, and carrying wheaten. Kinda messy gene wise, especially since you lose some silver enhancing genes when you outcross, so the resulting birds aren’t great choices to breed back to silver. They aren’t great to breed to wheaten either.
Crossing either silver or wheaten to black will make black birds with leakage.
I say keep your colors separate. Get a black/blue male too if you want to breed the blacks.
I apologize if this is vague, I am horrible at explaining, but really, keeping varieties separate is the best idea. Each one is beautiful in it’s own right and crossing them together is messy, and pointlessly against the standard unless you only want blue egg layers.
