Hatching

I have just started hatching chickens and every time ive ended up with mostly cockerels and only one or 2 hens from about 12 eggs? I obviously can't keep the cockerels and no one want cockerels. Might be a very stupid question but is it just bad luck? Or how does people end up hatching so many hens and i end up with only cockerels?

It is just bad luck. There is no magic recipe to hatching hens. The positive is cockerels taste good. If you won't or can't eat your roosters then I would suggest just buying sexed chicks so you don't get any boys.
