Hi! I have 3 hens who were raised elsewhere and came to me 2 weeks ago. So far it's been great, 17 eggs and one catastrophe (fly paper) that we seem to have survived. I am loving my new ladies!

Welcome to BYC, Amy! Glad you decided to join our flock. Montana is a beautiful state. That is some real good laying your hens are doing. Do you know what breed they are?
Generally cooking oil will release you or feathered fowl from flypaper - I've been stuck myself
Hi. I have a RIR, an Ameraucana, and a Buff Orpington cross. I think she may be crossed with Ameraucana as well because the eggs are like that, but the owner/breeder wasn't sure. Her tail feathers are tipped black, but otherwise she looks like a BO.
I was shocked when I found the nest under a bush for sure! I don't think I'd have found it except the BO started acting broody so I tracked her down. I've never had hens before. They seem happy and communicate with me well. It's a lot of fun.
