hi! a couple of my ducks have angel wing unfortunately. i’m assuming it was from their dad (who had angel wing when i got him and the people said it was just his baby feathers 🙄) they’re about 7 weeks old and i’m wondering if it’s too late to wrap them? the farm in my town said 8 weeks is good but they’re feathers look almost all grown in but am not sure. if anyone can help that would be great, thanks !

Can you please post some photos?
sorry yes! here’s some pics these were taken tuesday so he hasn’t really changed and then i have one that has both sides but i don’t have a pic of him ! i’m not sure if they’re too big now. i don’t think so, as i’ve watched a couple videos on how to wrap them and the ones they have wrapped look this size or even bigger but i’ll let you guys be the judge of that, im sure you know more than i do 🤍 thanks !

only pics i have on my phone but if you need more let me know !! thank you. when they were younger i checked constantly to make sure they didn’t have it but last week i saw it sticking out (not sure if the feathers just hadn’t come in or if they were hiding it) but i didn’t know it could come so late.

wow so that one duck has it on both sides it looks like.
There are lots of guides on how to wrap but when I treated my angelwing duckling (at 3 - 4 weeks old) I used a cut off sock It worked better for us.
some people use a piece of cut off sweatpant leg
whatever fits best and stays on

It’s not yo late
Wrap and leave it for 3-4 days
Then let them bath and check how they look
If they still need more time wrap again for 3-4 days abd repeat until they are staying under and they are able to hold them
For my goose all she needed was 4 days
My vet wrapped my goose so I could learn the proper way
Fortunately she only needed the one time but I did get her in at first sign of it

My khaki drake on the other hand has one wing and although we tried he got every wrap off so he lives with one bad wing
I was told by my vet to high of protein diet is why it happened
He has been dad to well over 60 offspring and not one has had angel wing
I now use starter feed only till 2 weeks then start to switch to grower / finisher being mixed for one week
I have raised many little ones since doing it this way and never had one duckling get it since
My gosling genetic line is a possibility on why she got it

ok nice! so how did u do it with the sock? i’m gonna do it tomorrow when i get up

just cut the foot part off and used the tube part , slid it on over her body. but I think your duck is too big for a sock. That’s why I mentioned perhaps a pants leg? You might have better luck with the wrapping with Vet wrap then I did. But the sock worked for us. This is Poppy in her sock.
