Another "Is this a rooster?" thread

I hate being that guy but what do you guys think? I thought she was a he but I have friends that are saying "Not so fast." These Buffs are part of my first four chickens ever and they're all about 17 weeks old. So far no crowing but she/he is one of the most aggressive of the flock. I have one Easter Egger that will chase him around and give him hell but that's it. A hawk flew into the yard and my "rooster" herded the other three into the coop. What do you guys think? "Rooster for sure." or "Give it time, I've seen hens look like this."

I am not an expert, but in the first picture it looks like you have a pullet in the front and cockerel in the back. The second picture looks to be a cockerel.

That's what I'm thinking. When do they usually start crowing?

We have only had two roosters so far. One started crowing before 8 weeks and our current 8 week old hasn't started crowing yet. I think it could happen at any time. Hoping an expert chimes in to help answer this. I would like to know the answer as well. You have very beautiful birds.

That second photo shows a lot of male only feathering. Hackle feathers are just starting to come in on the neck, he's got those long, thin male saddle feathers too.

Shouldn't he be crowing by now?

Roosters are all different that don't all crow at a certain age.
