Anyone have Banty hens only?

I have a friend who has banty hens.. his rooster was killed by a hawk awhile back and he claims banty hens won't lay without a rooster, I find that hard to believe, so anyone know for sure? Thanks.

None of mine have roos with them and they lay just fine

Thank you, that's what I thought. I believe he thinks they are not feeling safe enough and I suppose that could be but Im not so sure a rooster is going to help. Oh well, thanks for the info.
