Yoo hoo, I'm on spring ridge - about half way between Sutton and erbacon..yup got predators galore, soon as i got one under control another one comes along...the latest is a little dog that can't even eat a chicken...who would of thought that little mutt would switch from moles to pullets...darn! Had a bumper crop of chicks though, building fences now so I can let the dogs out all the time. Welcome to chickens!!!

Hey! Nice to see others from my area on here. I live in Forest Hill. I have 3 reds (no idea what kind of Reds...got them from TSC and they had no idea..just told me Reds) and 2 Buff Orpingtons. I had 3 BO's but one died the day after I got them. Nice to see ya on here!

Hi! I'm not sure where that is? I'm in braxton Co, I haven't seen much talk on this thread, I have a feeling most are not native, cause I can have a conversation just dialing a wrong number here. For some reason I can't access the map portion...I knew when it said 'it's easy' it wouldn't be. Forget tech help, it gives me a headache.....

LOL!!! I guess we're all just tending to our flocks! Love to get a local chat going. I'm in Ripley and in the city limits. Ripley does allow chickens in the city limits. There are some set back limitations. Since I have 6 ac I'm covered for that. I believe chicken ownership in the city comes with responsibility and it would only take a few to blow it for everybody. I started a little web site - its in my signature below - for 2 reasons. 1 to educate folks on keeping chicks in Ripley. 2 to bring a smile to folks faces.

On the education side, I have city ordinances and will be adding nutritional information (home grown vs store bought) and other related materials.

On the bringing a smile side - I have several video cams on the birds at all times. I call it chicken porn but I can't print that or servers would block the site based on the word porn. I tell folks they can watch my girls do bout anything but they don't take requests!

One story finally made the paper, when people were deciding what to do about a rooster that was in town...running loose...should they ban all chickens? Absolutely not! This caused the owner to finally admit it was his rooster and he just hadn't gotten around to catching it---maybe somebody wanted some chicks, I don't know, but all agreed it had gone on long enough.

Where is forest hill--i got six red pullets from tsc and they are the best...very healthy
