anyone know what breed and what gender he/she is?

Had 4 eggs and all hatched. They are now 14 weeks old. This one has started trying to crow the past few mornings but we want to be sure its a rooster before rehoming.. We live in suburbia and are, unfortunately, not allowed roosters. We are unsure of whether the hackle feathers are those of a rooster..

Also if you know what breed he/she may be - that would be great too! (we know they are either Australorp, New Hampshire Sussex, Black and White Leghorn, and Lohmanns)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS

Not sure about the breed, but I'd say that, unfortunately, you have a rooster. I'd wait a little longer, just to be sure though.

He is a red sexlink cockerel.

That is definitely a rooster. Could he be a MIX of the breeds you mentioned? Looks like Lohmanns might be part of the mix.

Both New Hampshire Sussex and Lohmanns are types of red sexlinks. Males are white with some dark red. Females are red/brown with some white.
