Anyone Order Chicks For Spring?

Thats great! It's also my first time with chickens! I ordered 1 EE Bantam, 1 EE, 2 Blue Chochin, and 1 Buff Orpington! Mine are supposed to come April 17th! Soooo excited!

does anybody know of a hatchery that you can order from that has a lower minimum other than 15-25. There are a lot that I am seeing in that range. I am looking to get 2-3 but I also understand financially/safety for the chicks why a hatchery would not want to do that

Yes, there are several who will ship 1-3 but the shipping cost is quite high.
what breed do you want? maybe there is breeder near you that can save you lots of shipping expense.

I use My Pet Chicken. Minimum is 3 if you are near a large city and it isn't winter, 5-8 if you are more rural.

I cant find any....thats why i always have to hatch my own.

Cackle and I believe Myers will also do a minimum of 3. Just be aware that you may end up with packing material ie a whole bunch of male chicks put in there for warmth.

I think many give them away for meat birds or reptile food.
