I'm just learning to do Polymer Clay Sculpture - how did you get the ostrich to stand?

It took a while, i had to adjust the legs quite a bit to balance it. It fell over twice in the oven, so i just layed it on it's side and tried to keep the feet straight. Once it was hardened it could stand perfectly fine on it't own, but i think i took it out of the oven too early because it's leg cracked.
