I found this flyer at the local co-op , the breeder is only a few miles from me . I did not know they were there.
Maybe somebody here as heard of them? Maybe even somebody here on BYC?

What i want to know about is the Appenzeller Spitzhauben, anybody have them?

I am thinking about getting a few chicks and would like to see pictures and hear any information on them.

Hello Everyone
Spitzhaubens are a really great Breed, We have recently Formed a Club The Appenzeller Spitzhauben Club of America. We are actively working to get this breed APA recognized. WE have an auction site on FB to raise funds for the club. Have several members who are actively Showing thier birds. Would love more people to join us. I Raise Silver Spangled as well as Gold Spangled and have been for almost 2 years. I recently aquired a few other colors to work with in the future. If you would like information about the club you can contact me Catherine Poeschl at
[email protected]. You can Also go to Appenzeller spitzhauben club of america on fb, Or to Appenzeller spitzhauben club of america auction.

or my web page www.sweetpeepschicks.com

I bought one for a friend. When she lost her Sptiz hen, she HAD to go find more. She now has about 20. I think she will be selling off the "extra pairs" soon. If any one in Calif. is interested.

But I have something very different. I have Buff laced Polish crossed with a Silver spangled Hamburg. They look a lot like Chamois Spitzhauben. I would love to work a trade with someone looking for a project. (The top one is mine)

Well we moved our Spizt to a new coop today, we have been doing research but was curious what colors you all run together. For breeding purposes.

During breeding season, my separate colors do not run together. I have crossed Brabanters and Spitz for genetic diversity. There are people working on Cream Spitz descended from my birds. But I do not do random breeding.

Just wanted to put up a particularly good shot of one of the young girls coming out of my current breeding project with the Silvers.
