OMG my chicks almost done with hatching! but theres this cord connected to the bum. any suggestions?

When should I stop waiting for the eggs to hatch? When has it been too long?

I asked on another forum and was told to wait until day 25 to eggtopsy the air cell end to see if any were still viable. I'm on day 26 and I think I saw a couple eggs wiggle but it might have been my wishful thinking. I've read about float testing but have never done it before.

That happened to one of mine this hatch. I left it alone and it fell off in a matter of 1/2 hour or so.

I had a 100% hatch rate! 6 out of 6 hatched and appear to be very healthy.

If my total inexperience at feather sexing is correct, there are 5 females and one male. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Help! I have had three die when they were almost done zipping out and they get dried up and stop. Got one still alive in the same situation. Humidity at 70 75 and temp at 99.5. How can I help this one get out
