Are fantail pigeons happy in a large outdoor aviary? Inhumaine?

Are there breeds of fantail pigeons that would be have in a LARGE outdoor aviary
(like 100+ sq ft)? In the further future I could see owning some ONLY IF they would be happy birds. I have been told some breeds of fantail can't fly well. Thank you.

I suppose it is the same with Betta fish
They do fantastic n a large tank, you just have to choose their companions wisely. Setup is everything.

Any fan tailed breed won’t fly as well as a normal tailed pigeon but they will fly from point A to point B well enough and do fine in an aviary. It’s flying out in the open where they can struggle.

They would be very happy in a large aviary. Not being able to fly super well wouldn’t make them fear a large space.
