Some posts I see say orpington bantams. My orpingtons are pretty big to be bantams so is there a difference between orpingtons and orpington bantams?

Orpingtons come in both standard sized and bantam sized. The two are identical in appearance with the only difference being that the standard sized Orpingtons are much larger than the bantam sized Orpingtons.

Think LF = Large Fowl, which is the standard size orpington being the chicken equivelent to the standard sized poodle. You know the ones with the poof ball tail and the rediculas hair cuts, they are the size of a labrador. The bantam version of the Orpington is like the teacup version of the poodle, the ones that sit on the old ladies lap with short curls and barks like a little yappy dog and is usually named precious, or peaches, or fluffy.
