While I was looking for EE or Olive Egger, my stepdaughter was drawn to the “Assorted brown layer pullets” bin at Rural King. She instantly fell in love with this sweet girl and I can’t blame her…she is the sweetest chick I have right now. Any guesses at what we have? There are several breeds with only minor differences that she resembles. Could she just be a mixed breed?

She won’t be a mixed breed, coming from a hatchery. And if she was labeled correctly, she wouldn’t be a brown leghorn, either (Referring to the suggestion above).

Update in a few weeks and it will be much easier to identify.
Agreed. The most likely options would be a Welsummer or Speckled Sussex but time will easily tell
