I just went up to the Nymboida and it was 48 up there, I could not imagen any hens living their.

no, i tried incubating them myself but when i candled them at a week there was no development

on a brighter note my nephew gave me two silver laced wyandotts as a chrissie present

42 in my yard and I think my sussex x Australorp may not survive this one I have her in a box in the air con after finding her with excessive panting wracking her whole body, refusing to eat or drink cold treats even yogurt which is one of her faves.

her gurgling raspy breath eased to a pant and I finally managed to get her to take a few mouth fulls of cold yoghurt. As long as there are no secondary effects from heat stroke I think she made a narrow escape

Thank goodness for the cool change (and air conditioning) I'm glad I don't have a whole flock of black chickens dispite my love of Australorps!
