Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I too have an old fish tank, so I will just use that then.
Thanks for the temps.
All I have to find now is heat lamp.
Hmm..ok, So I have to buy a heat lamp?

When we set up our hermit crab tank I bought everything off eBay. Thermostat identical to ash's and the ceramic lamp. Heaps!!!! Cheaper than local.
I then went to a lighting store and bought a ceramic bulb holder (you can't use plastic due to the high heat they produce) and lead. I smiled nicely and they put the lead on the holder for me too:)
Worked out very economical.

A lam will do so long as it can hold the right bulb (hot enough to keep them warm but not so hot that the lamp shorts out).

Just remember luke that they need ventilation and a place to escape from the heat if they need to. Also, make sure their water container is full of marbles or some thing, and only the tiniest bit of water in at first (I use jar lids for the first 2 days of life) and make sure it's far enough from the light that the water doesn't get warm or your your quail chicks will drown in it. I had a quail chick drown yesterday in literally 3mm of water... it had straddle leg so it couldn't get out of the lid.

Chookpatch: Well done! You can never have too many incubators.
