Hello,
Wasn't sure about posting here or in incubator/hatching forum. This chick was born today. It was one of three last eggs we were waiting for and all three hatched but they were "bloodier" than the ones before them. It was not extreme and they have all stopped bleeding, but we just saw this on one of the chicks.
A piece of egg shell seems to have gotten stuck over the naval area where it had been bleeding. I believe that is the case maybe it is just stuck to the side, but either way, what is the best way to handle this? I don't want to pull it and risk killing the chick. Will it maybe fall off by itself? Will it be ok to put with the other chicks?
Thank you for any advice and help!
