baby chicks vaccination

Hi,
I have two questions:

1. I vaccinated my chicks of a day old by both live(B1 hitchner strain coupled with H120 IBD eye drops) and killed(injection) Newcastle Disease. But I read in a book that baby chicks will inherit their parents antibodies and their immune system may reduce the effect of vaccine for the first 2-3 weeks after they hatched. So why our local vet advised me to vaccinate them on day 1 and repeat that on day 8 of their life?

2. Again I read somewhere that after vaccination with live virus chicks will contract a mild form of ND which is capable of making other unprotected chicks sick if they contact with each other. Did you have any experience of this problem? How much should I wait before selling my baby chicks?

Thank you in advance
