My daughters were given 8 Atwood’s chicks as an Easter gift and I’m trying to figure out their breeds. 4 chicks came out of a “bantam special” box and the other 4 came out of a “blue cuckoo marans” box. Only one looked like a cuckoo marans however. I have pictures of a couple that are starting to get feathers. I’m hoping someone can help identify the breeds.

1-Black Breasted Red Old English Game Bantam if it has a single comb. The picture is really blurry but the comb almost looks like a pea comb making it potentially a Dark Cornish Bantam
2-Silver Duckwing Old English Game Bantam
3-really need to see comb and legs but probably a Black Tailed Buff Japanese Bantam
4-need comb again but either White Laced Red Cornish Bantam or Red Pyle Old English Game Bantam
5-Black Cochin Bantam

I’ll post some better pics once they’ve gotten a little older too. I appreciate the help!

Just reread your post and if the last is a large fowl chick it's likely a Black Marans!
My mother in law said only 4 were from the bantam box. She thinks it was the two “chipmunk” colored ones, the little black one, and she’s not sure witch other. Possibly the one with the tan “V” on its head. The other 4 were in the blue cuckoo marans box, but only one has the right coloring for that 🤷‍♀️. I’ll post pictures of all 8.

No idea on the banties- Rhodebar Lover knows the littles! Looks like you have two Marans chicks, one blue and one black- too early to tell if they'll be cuckoo. The other two could be Buff Orpingtons- single comb and the right color legs- this is based on typical popularity for stores like Atwood's/TSC/Wilco... There are a couple other possible buff chicken possibilities but they're not as common- Buff Rock, Buff Minorcas, Buff Leghorns... At least for the large breeds you got some mellow, people-friendly chicks!

Thank you! I appreciate all the help I can get! I was thinking the little black one might be a black Cochin and the gray one a blue cuckoo marans. If the two “chipmunk” ones aren’t bantams, I thought maybe they could be wellsummer, olive eggers, or light brown leghorn. I was also thinking a buff Orpington might be at least one of the yellow ones, but I’m just guessing on them all! I guess that’s part of the fun 😜!

I got two blue cuckoo marans chicks a couple of weeks ago and they look very similar to your two little “penguins”. They should have slate colored legs with pink feet. Yours have fluffier legs than mine but it looks like they have little pink feetsies 🥰
These photos were taken the day after I got them (they have grown so much in such a short time!) and yes I did a full on photo shoot, backdrop included because I’m an insane person lol

Yours are so cute! And the background is great too! I definitely think I have one blue cuckoo. It’s my grayish colored “penguin” and is growing fast, but no sign of tail feathers yet, so wondering if it’s a roo. My little black “penguin” I’m thinking might be a black Cochin since it’s still tiny. It doesn’t have tail feathers coming in either, so maybe also a roo 🤷‍♀️. They were purchased from Atwood’s the day before Easter. I’m not sure how soon the tail feathers show for those two breeds though.
