Barbezieux-Silver or gold?

I’m planning to make some Barbezieux crosses and was hoping someone here would know if they are silver or gold based. Pics or descriptions of Barbezieux crosses other folks have done would be helpful, especially 2nd generation (so they aren’t just black), if no one knows the answer. Thank you in advance!

Typically black is covering gold. That would be your best guess and you'd not know unless you test mated. The breed you're talking about is extremely rare. Who would have crossed this to confirm if it was gold or silver based?

On the Barbezieux thread there were several mentions of people crossing them with other birds for various reasons. Some folks only had one gender at the time. I’m planning on keeping one family pure and another I’d like to change the color to Blue Copper and adapt them better to the mountains of Montana-my climate is not kind to huge combs

Most likely gold. Silver based blacks aren't nearly as lustrous.
