Hi. I'm in Richmond. I've been building my raccoon-proof chicken coop since February. Just doing the finishing touches now. Am hoping to get some chicks soon (Jeremy? Am I still on your list?). I'm so looking forward to finally be getting my first chickens (since I was a kid).
As for local feed stores: There's one in Richmond or San Pablo on Rumrill Blvd. I haven't been there yet, but my neighbor gets her chicken feed there.
Also, the BioFuel Oasis in Berkeley at Ashby and Sacramento Streets has urban homesteading stuff, including chicken supplies and even chicks sometimes.
Anyone else from West CC County on here? There are lots of backyard chickens in Richmond...I can hear the roosters!
