Best Dual Purpose Free-Range Chicken Breed?

Howdy y'all
I'd like to know what the best dual purpose FREE RANGE chicken breed is.
I have a chicken tractor that my dad and I built, and some of the chickens I had in there died because they don't free range like some of my other chickens. So I'm looking for the best dual purpose chickens that also free range well.

If there is a BEST of the hundreds of breeds and the dozens that are good dual purpose that free range well, you may not be completely enamored with the choices. For Florida, I would choose one of the Mediterranean breeds.
By dual purpose, I assume you are wanting to eat some.
What most people consider dual purpose in general aren't best for a hot climate and you will have to consider how to alleviate that. You don't need a cold hardy breed.

I had some chickens, and I didn't know that their specific breed wasn't a good free-range breed, so they were accidentally starved

What breed?

Any modern breed will require food to be available all daylight hours. Even the best self sufficient breeds won't be able to sustain themselves in a tractor without food and water available all day.

I don't know if even a single chicken (of any breed) could truly survive just off of what they scrounge up from the floor of a chicken tractor. There are so many factors to consider, with your climate being pretty important. (edit: I see you are in FL! There are some FL members on this board who do low-input chicken keeping)
