Black dots on my roo's comb....

Hello all... just found my roo has black dots on his comb...he's being a roo, eating and drinking well... this is just pecking injuries?

If dry fowl pox there is no need for concern. It's a virus spread by mosquitos and will run its course. After which they will be immune to that strain.

Do you have a lot of biting flies, midges, etc. buzzing around? They can go after combs an there are some little ones that can leave a cluster of little scabby things like that. Or it could be pecking/pox - I've never seen fowl pox up close so just tossing out another possibility for consideration.

For the antiseptic spray, you can also spray it on a paper towel a bunch and then dab the area to have better control over where it goes.

Flies have been under control so I don't think it's that..great idea to dab it on! .Ty for the input...
